Following the meeting of the Newcastle Cricket Club committee
on Monday 12th January it was unanimously agreed that the committee
should advise members of its position regarding the future of cricket
at Jesmond.
The Newcastle Cricket Club Committee is responsible for the club
side competing in the North East Premier League. The committee wish
to see Newcastle continuing to function as a Premier League team,
preferably based at Jesmond. The committee recognise that considerable
long term financial backing will need to be secured to achieve this
objective. This will almost certainly require a restructuring of
the organisation and the involvement of outside parties.
If this objective is to be achieved the NCC committee will require
the whole hearted support of all members who share the desire to
see cricket continue at Jesmond. If anyone is able to contribute
to this aim, please contact one of the committee members. As previously
stated the committee are purely responsible for the Club, not County,
team. However, if Newcastle can continue to play at Jesmond the
ground will available for Northumberland, or other teams, to use.

N.Walton, W.Allen, D.Cartwright, J.G.Robertson, A.Robson, M.Hynd
